Supervisor Mode
Supervisor Mode is for people who review other people’s research: supervisors, lecturers, senior researchers. It is not part of a student plan and has its own separate subscription.
Who can use it
Section titled “Who can use it”Master’s and PhD accounts only. You turn it on from Settings (or the one-time choice screen when you first sign up), never during a checkout.
The level you can review at is capped by your own academic level: a Master’s account can buy a Master’s supervisor seat; only a PhD account can buy a PhD one.
Downward-only review scope
Section titled “Downward-only review scope”- A PhD supervisor can review work at PhD, Master’s, undergraduate and diploma standard.
- A Master’s supervisor can review at Master’s standard and below.
You can never review above your own level.
You must accept a disclosure first
Section titled “You must accept a disclosure first”Before you can subscribe, you read and accept a disclosure covering how AI assistance in review works and your responsibilities as the reviewer. This is enforced on the server, so there is no way around it.
Free trial
Section titled “Free trial”3 days, with a few reviews, at either level, once per account.
Supervisor plans come in weekly and monthly options at each level. Each plan gives you a set number of reviews for the period. The Plans screen in the app shows the current prices and review allowance in your local currency.
A paid supervisor seat includes the matching writing plan’s tokens and searches for that level and interval. There is no separate supervisor token pool.
Roster limit
Section titled “Roster limit”One seat covers a fixed number of active students, with a larger roster at PhD than at Master’s. Removing a student frees a slot. A seat is one supervisor, not a departmental licence.
How it works day to day
Section titled “How it works day to day”- Students share documents with you.
- They appear under Shared reviews (use the Supervisor card on Home).
- Open one, run a review at your chosen standard.
- The student sees your feedback.
Each review accepts a long document, up to the size shown in the app. During busy weekday hours (roughly 4 to 7am and 9am to 1:30pm EAT) there is a small limit on reviews per window.
