Academic integrity and responsible use

ResearchDoom is built on one principle: tell your institution you used AI assistance. That is the standard we design for, and it is the standard most universities and journals are moving towards.

ResearchDoom does not scan your work for similarity, and it is not designed to help you evade a detector. If you are worried about how AI use will be viewed, the answer is disclosure, not concealment.

From your Documents page, every document you generate has a Download AI Disclosure Certificate option. It produces a Word document you can sign and attach to your submission. It is available to every account, including trial accounts, because disclosure is a compliance step that everyone needs.

The certificate names no AI vendor. It records your name, institution, academic level, the document title and topic, the document type, and the dates, and carries a signed declaration that:

  1. you have reviewed all AI-generated content and take full intellectual responsibility for the final work;
  2. the core arguments, research decisions and academic judgements are your own;
  3. all facts, statistics and citations have been independently verified against primary sources;
  4. the declaration is prepared in line with your institution’s academic integrity policy and Uganda’s Data Protection & Privacy Act (2019).

AI-use policies differ by university, by faculty, and sometimes by supervisor. Before you rely on ResearchDoom for a submission, find out what your programme allows and how it expects AI use to be declared. A short statement in your acknowledgements or methodology section, noting that an AI writing assistance tool was used for drafting and that all content was reviewed and verified by you, is usually the right form. Ask your supervisor if you are unsure.

  • It will not write Results, Discussion or Conclusion chapters from data you have not collected. In proposal stage it gives you a structure and asks what you have actually gathered, rather than inventing findings.
  • It will not invent an internship placement or tasks. The Internship Report tool organises the details you enter.
  • It requires your own thinking first before it will draft Chapters 1 to 3: your topic, your notes, your argument.
  • It flags invented figures. When it turns a thesis into a manuscript, it points out any figure in the draft that is not in your source thesis.
  • Its citations are real. They come from the World Journal Database, and the app tells you to open and verify every one before it enters your reference list.
  • Every generated document carries an academic-integrity notice.
  • Treat every draft as a draft. Rewrite it in your own voice.
  • Verify every citation against the actual source.
  • Keep your data yours: collect it, and check that the analysis matches it.
  • Show your supervisor early and often.
