The free trial
Your free trial starts automatically when you finish onboarding. You do not need a payment method to begin.
What you get
Section titled “What you get”The trial lasts 3 days. It gives you a starter pool of tokens and a few citation searches, sized to your academic level, and you can write up to 2 full chapters. The Home screen shows exactly what you have.
What the trial is for
Section titled “What the trial is for”The trial is designed to let you try most tools (outlines, a chapter or two, a review, citations, viva practice), not to finish a whole chapter end to end. The Presentation Builder and the Grant Proposal Writer need a paid plan. The starter pool is smaller than a paid weekly plan on purpose. If a tool stops mid-task, you have run out of trial tokens.
During the trial you are not limited by the weekly per-tool caps that apply to paid plans. The token pool and the 2-chapter limit apply. Study Tools is limited to 10 requests every 3 hours, the same as after the trial.
Trial output carries a small watermark. Paid output does not. See Saved documents, exports and history for what you can download.
One trial per account
Section titled “One trial per account”You get one trial per email address, ever. Deleting your account and signing up again does not reset it, because that record outlives account deletion.
On a shared device (a family phone, a cybercafé computer) up to 3 different accounts can each run a trial. If you see a “trial not available on this device” message, that limit is why.
What stays free after the trial
Section titled “What stays free after the trial”Study Tools stays free forever, with no subscription, at 10 requests every 3 hours. That covers improving a paragraph, checking grammar, summarising text, revising a concept, coding help for your data analysis, and study questions. It resets on its own, so it is a real free tier that never runs out for good.
Everything else shows a padlock once the trial ends, until you buy a plan. Your saved work stays.
