Getting started

Sign up with your email address and a password at researchdoom.com, or in the Android app. You will get a verification email. Open it and follow the link before you can sign in. If you lose the email, you can request a new one from the sign-in screen.

Forgot your password later? Use Forgot password on the sign-in screen.

You pick one of four levels:

Level For
Diploma Practical project reports with simple data collection and interpretation
Undergraduate Bachelor’s degree: research proposals, coursework, final-year projects
Master’s Master’s degree: dissertations, journal articles, conference papers
PhD Full theses, publications, original contributions to knowledge

This is the most important setting in the product. It changes the analytical depth, the writing style, the expected length, and the standard ResearchDoom holds your work to. Read Choosing your academic level before you pick, and note that once your trial starts you can move down a level yourself but not up.

Add your name, institution, and field of study. If you are in a health field (medicine, nursing, pharmacy and similar), set your health programme, which tailors the Health & Medicine study tool to your course. Set your citation style too; it defaults to APA 7th and you can change it any time.

When you finish onboarding, your 3-day free trial begins. You do not have to do anything. It gives you enough tokens to try every tool and write up to two chapters. See The free trial for exactly what you get.

Master’s and PhD accounts see a one-time choice between “just writing” and “writing and supervising”. Most students should choose “just writing”. If you review other people’s work, see Supervisor Mode. It is a separate, separately-paid product you can also turn on later from Settings. Diploma and undergraduate accounts never see this screen.

You land on the Home dashboard, with tools grouped by research stage: Everyday · Plan · Write · Refine · Finish. Tap the ? on any tool card for a full explanation and worked examples.

Good first tasks:

  • Outline Generator (Plan): turn a topic into a full thesis structure.
  • Study Tools (Everyday): improve a paragraph, check grammar, revise a concept. This one stays free after your trial.
